![]() ![]() The DS uses a slightly smaller frame than the Colt Official Police or Smith & Wesson 'K' Framerevolvers, but is larger than the compact 'J' frame used in Smith & Wesson five-shot revolvers. The Colt Agent is an aluminum framed, lightweight, short-gripped version of the Colt Detective Special. As with the previous two Series models, a few nickel-plated guns were produced, and a 3-inch-barrel variant was again offered. Note: Aircrewman began 1951 and ended 1959. * NOTE: Some records indicate Colt may have added a "D" prefix as early as 1966. The Detective Special uses a slightly smaller frame than the Colt Official Police or Smith & Wesson Model 10 (K-Frame) revolvers, but is larger than the five-shot Smith & Wesson Model 36/Model 38/Model 42 (J-frame) revolvers. ![]()
